Sculling Camp - Spring 2010

Statistics......

Successful stander-uppers in boats = 4
BBLRC capsizers = 1
Cygnet capsizers = 5
Marshmallows consumed by Sue and Rob = 32
Disgusting bottles of foreign 'liqueurs' imbibed = 1 1/2

Advance party rigged boats and took them over on Friday evening, with Maddie helping her daddy improve his rowing technique.  On Saturday Laurent and Matt B did a great job all weekend coaching the newbies/victims.

Huge enthusiasm from everyone for all sculling camp routines and rituals - from cooking to cleaning to drinking.

Now the photos ......

The weather was fabulous and here's the proof!!

Daddy catches together!!!

Some were not convinced by the teaching technique.......

" Really you'll be fine"

"Are you sure"

"Up she goes"

And the prize for the person who travelled the furthest to sculling camp goes to ...... Tichel!

Rule No.1 - Remember to look over your shoulder

BBLRC ladies obviously watching a Cygnet sculling badly

There's a fine line between help and hindrance - Dave is straddling that line

Post sculling chat

And the man of the moment...... Big thank you to Laurent
