let
me guess, it's on the river....
The nearest train station is Barnes Bridge. Trains run every 15 mins (Mon-Sat, once an hour on Sundays) from London Waterloo via Clapham Junction and Putney. Check out British Rail's Journey Planner for the exact timetable or call National Rail Enquiries on 08457 484950. Barnes Station has more trains and is approximately 15 mins walk through Barnes Village to get to the Bridge. To get to the club house, walk over the railway bridge, down the stairs and then go straight on for about 50m. This will bring you to a large piece of concrete that we call the "hard". The Civil Service Boathouse is on the left hand side (next to Emanuel boat house), with the Thames on the right hand side. The 209 is a regular service from Hammersmith Bus station (2 levels above Hammersmith District/Piccadilly lines) and takes about 20 minutes There are buses approximately every 10 mins, 15 mins on Sundays. The bus crosses Hammersmith Bridge, turns right into Barnes at the Red Lion pub, passes Barnes Pond and turns towards the river. There is a stop right in front of Barnes Railway Bridge (large black iron construction, or ask the driver). Follow the walking instructions for the train above. See map above for Dukes Meadows, go past the Bandstand, then as the road takes a sharp right, park anywhere around there (you will see various boat trailers on the grass), and then walk towards the river and then turn right to walk along side it. The boathouse is 10m on your right. There is always space to park.
