BBLRC is a small and friendly club located on the Thames. We are a relatively small club compared to others on the Thames and one of only two women’s only clubs in the UK. We are located at the Civil Service Boathouse, which we share with Cygnet RC. Additionally, we are the proud organisers of the Pairs Head of the River race every autumn.
We welcome adult women rowers of all ages – both experienced and beginners. If you have never rowed before we run special courses for complete novices. Please visit Learn to row for more information. If you are an experienced rower – be it Senior or Novice – you can join a session or two to try us out. Please contact us if you are interested in coming down to trial and meet the squad.
We have been successful in both regattas and head races due to the commitment of our captain and coaching team. Our club has a an excellent fleet of boats set up specifically for female rowers. We offer either Hudson or Filippi boats for our top racing crews.
Off the water we have a vibrant social calendar with weekly Thursday night post-outing dinners, annual gatherings for Henley Royal Regatta, annual Christmas parties and seasonal Club Days. We often join forces with Cygnet for social events. There is always something to look forward to both on and off the water!
