Captain’s update 05/03

WEHORR

Women’s Head of the River race is upon us. We have four BBLC boats racing and a further two boats racing as BBL composites.

For those on the bank, look out and give a cheer for the following boat numbers:

10: Masters A

39: Intermediate 2

75: Masters C BBL + MAA composite

85: Masters F BBLRC, Burway RC, Kingston RC, Maidenhead BC, Mortlake, Anglian & Alpha BC Thames RC

223: Novice

297: Novice

For those of you racing WEHORR for the first time, its a brilliant opportunity to be involved in the largest women only rowing race in Europe. It really is an amazing experience to be one of 320 boats on the tideway. I feel particularly proud of those of you who started rowing as part of our Get fit and row course last year who will be racing WEHORR for the first time. This year there are 98 Novice crews this year, which is a 50% increase on last year.

Remember to dig deep, look up at the bridges and not forget we do this because its a great sport which we enjoy!

Good luck to all the crews racing.

RESULTS

Well done to the same/similar crews who raced at Hammersmith Women’s and Juniors last weekend. The results page on the website has been updated and shows the results of all the races this season. Any mistakes please let me know.
