Captain’s Log 17th March

Well that’s the key race of our head season over for another year and what a day it was! The sun shone for most of the morning although I did notice some of the novices coming in blue after an epic marshalling session. A first race for many of them, they did fabulously well. Great racing too from the other boats and hopefully a solid springboard into the fast approaching regatta season.

A big thank you to everyone who helped on the day in what ever capacity. Mentions to launch drivers and everyone who baked and womaned the stall. We had an incredible profit this year, making around £800!! Huge thanks to Michelle and Vicky for organising everything including the panini machine – who’d have imagined panini at Barnes Bridge!

Don’t forget to check our facebook page for pictures of the day too.

Right – time to start preparing for next year!

Join Us! Open Day, 29th March 2015

Barnes Bridge Ladies Rowing Club is currently recruiting both new and experienced rowers and coxswains for the summer regatta season.
The club is holding an open morning on Sunday 29 March (10:30am – 12 noon) where you can learn more about the club and rowing in general, take a tour of the facilities, have a go on the rowing machines and then watch the Head of the River race. Rowing is one of the UK’s most successful sports, which enables you to keep fit in a very social environment. Please fill in this contact form if you are interested in coming along. We hope to see you on the day!
